Where To Find Frozen Margaritas… To Go

Don’t we all deserve a good drink?

As Pittsburgh restaurants continue to pivot to takeout and delivery-only operations, they’re also finding new ways to get our favorite drinks into the hands of their customers.

Mad Mex is now serving citrus Mar-GO-ritas at all of their locations. The $15 frozen margs-to-go come in 32 oz. containers, and contain a malt-based beverage (instead of the usual tequila) to give it an alcoholic kick… while still staying within the Pennsylvania state guidelines.

The restaurant first announced sales on Wednesday, and currently have only a limited number of margaritas available, but plan to be fully restocked on Saturday.

Mad Mex suggests calling the individual restaurant location (open spots include Canonsburg, Cranberry, Monroeville, North Hills, Scott Township, Shadyside and Waterworks) to check availability, and to order.

The owners of Muddy Waters Oyster Bar and Bird on the Run in East Liberty have also been offering to-go margaritas, made with a malt-based beverage.

You can order margs at both locations, in a rotating list of flavors. Right now, they’re offering cherry, strawberry, Blood orange and raspberry, but the selection changes daily.

Each margarita comes in a to-go cup, and is $7.49 at Bird on the Run. Margs at Muddy Waters come in a 32 oz. container, and are $14 each.

All to-go margarita sales must be picked up, and delivery is not available. Proper ID is required.

Call Muddy Waters at 412-361-0555 and Bird on the Run at 412-450-8915 to order.
