Wigle Whiskey is ready to celebrate.
This year, the Pittsburgh distillery is not only marking the 10th anniversary of the launch of their business, but also the 10th anniversary of hard-fought legislation that allowed craft distilleries in Pennsylvania to sell products directly to consumers.
In 2012, the Strip District distillery was allowed to open after two years of lobbying the Pennsylvania legislature to allow spirit producers to sell alcohol in a retail storefront, and Wigle became the first Distillery located in Pittsburgh in nearly a hundred years.
Since then, business has boomed, and grown to be in the top 10% of craft distilleries nationally, raking in honors from the American Craft Spirits Association and the James Beard Foundation.
And now, to celebrate their decade in business, Wigle Whiskey is partnering with more than a dozen other Pittsburgh businesses for weekly giveaways.
Starting on Wednesday, March 2, every Wednesday and Saturday throughout March, Wigle’s social media team will be sharing giveaways spotlighting more than 20 Pittsburgh businesses and experiences, with gifts from spots like DiAnoia’s Eatery, Defer Coffee, Sarris Candies, the National Aviary, Carnegie Science Center, Love Pittsburgh and more.
