Your Guide to Pittsburgh Strawberry Festivals 2019

Every summer, Southwestern PA hosts Strawberry Festivals across the region. As Pittsburghers, we are lucky enough to be able to attend them! Keep reading to learn when and where you can eat farm-fresh strawberries, pick your own berries, and munch on delicious treats like strawberry doughnuts, strawberry shortcake, and strawberry ice cream.

Strawberry Festivals in Pennsylvania:

Brandywine Strawberry Festival

Coatesville, PA (outside Philly)
Thursday, May 30 – June 2
Located on the other side of the state, this festival is a family-friendly event celebration of all things Strawberry. Activities include amusement rides, pony rides, monster truck rides, live music, mechanical bulls, fireworks, and raffles. Food includes funnel cakes, strawberry goodies, and more!

Parkwood Church Strawberry Festival

Allison Park
Saturday, June 1
Stop through Parkwood Church in Allison Park on June 1 for bounce houses, games, food trucks, desserts, and of course, plenty of strawberries! The festival runs from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

Cheswick Strawberry Festival

Cheswick
Sunday, June 2
The annual Cheswick Strawberry Festival will be held on Sunday, June 2 from 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Rachel Carson Park. There will be games, raffles, and Cheswick’s famous strawberry shortcake.

26th Annual Shadyside Presbyterian Church Strawberry Festival

Shadyside
Friday, June 7
The 26th annual Shadyside Presbyterian Church strawberry festival is just around the corner! The event will be held on June 7 from 5:30 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. There will be fun, games, and delicious food. Menu items will include fresh strawberries, ice cream, strawberry shortcake, grilled hot dogs, chips, tossed salad, and beverages. Baked goods are also will be available for purchase. There is no charge for admission.

Soergel Orchards Strawberry Festival 2019

Saturday, June 8
Soergel Orchards in Wexford will be hosting their strawberry festival on Saturday, June 8. The event will feature strawberry desserts, hay rides, games, and strawberry activities like “pick-your-own strawberries” in the berry fields.

Verona Presbyterian Church Strawberry Festival

Smicksburg Strawberry Saturday

Smicksburg, PA
Saturday, June 8
The town of Smicksburg, PA (located an hour outside of Pittsburgh), hosts a massive strawberry festival every year. Smicksburg, an Amish town, is known for their homemade goods – from pottery, to quilts and wooden furniture. The festival is a great opportunity to visit the town and its shops. In honor of the festival, Smicksburg will be serving everything strawberry related, including strawberry wine, strawberry jam, strawberry ice-cream, berry bowls and more.

Trax Farms Strawberry Festival

Finleyville, PA
Saturday June 15- 16
Trax Farms is hosting a two-day strawberry extravaganza this June! Each day will feature strawberry treats and activities for children, including a Bounce House, Train Rides, and Balloon Chase. The menu for the event includes strawberry shortcake, strawberry sundae, bowls of strawberries , hand dipped ice cream, strawberry slushies, strawberry milkshake, and chocolate covered strawberries.

Triple B Farms Strawberry Picking

Dates TBD, Approx May 31
Triple B’s famous Pick Your Own strawberries will be available as soon as the farm has ripe berries plentiful enough for everyone to fill their basket! They host picking weekends throughout the summer, and strawberries generally lead in to black and red raspberries which lead in to blueberries. They are all Pick Your Own fruits! Info is available with times on their website with a seasonal calendar.
