For a city with such strong ties to the greatest zombie film of all time (who hasn’t been to the Night of The Living Dead cemetery?), a zombie party is pretty much the best way to celebrate anything.
That’s why Maggie’s Farm is set to celebrate the release their newest reserve rum, “Queen’s Share” this Sunday with an all-out zombie fest… and they’ll be shutting down an entire block of Smallman Street to do it properly.
At the ZOMBIE party, they’ll be featuring live music, food trucks (be on the lookout for the PGH Taco Truck, Mac & Gold, and Southside BBQ Company), and four versions of the classic “Zombie” cocktail, created by four of the best cocktail bartenders the city has to offer.
And, they’ll have loads of free samples of Queen’s Share, a rum distilled exclusively from the tail runnings of their normal cane rum distillations, which makes this batch extra flavorful. With three versions in the works – one aged in bourbon casks, one aged in virgin oak casks, and an unaged version – it’s a rum trifecta that we can’t wait to try.
Of course, there will be zombies… lots of zombies. They’re coming from the House of the Dead and attendees are encouraged to zombify to their dead heart’s content. In addition, professional makeup artists will be on hand to paint up whoever wants to look a little more cadaverous.
A limited number of tickets for entrance are on sale now for only $10, and can be purchased here.
