It’s been a big month for Bae Bae’s Kitchen!
The popular fast-casual Korean eatery was just named one of Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in 2020… and now they’re opening a new cafe!
Dubbed “Bae Bae’s Cafe,” the cafe is located just four doors down from Bae Bae’s Kitchen’s Liberty Avenue location. Serving beverages and small bites, the space and theme are inspired by Alice and Wonderland and the Mad Hatters Tea Party.
“We are taking our core philosophy from Bae Bae’s Kitchen, of offering great, organic, sustainable, local and delicious cuisine inspired by our many journeys and travels around the world,” owner Edward Lai told Good Food Pittsburgh in September.
For the opening menu, guests can expect boba drinks, coffee, specialty drinks, teas, and baked desserts. They also have a menu of lighter fare with gourmet sandwiches and house made soups and salads.
“The cafe is an extension of the Kitchen but a different concept and vibe,” says Lai.
One their social media accounts, Bae Bae’s Cafe’s has previewed fun drinks like Chocolate Vanilla Milkshakes with Espresso and “Bae Bae’s Shirley Temple.”
Opening hours for the cafe are 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM (perfect for morning coffee runs!) Monday – Friday. Hours will adjust in the spring.
Seating is limited to about 10 spots. The cafe plans to eventually offer a reservations-only afternoon tea time.
More information on future plans for the space can be found in Good Food Pittsburgh’s September announcement of the cafe.
The cafe’s sister restaurant, Bae Bae’s Kitchen, first opened in 2017 and offers a rotating selection of organic and locally sourced Korean-inspired dishes and sides. Menu staples include stir-fried glass noodles, Korean fried chicken, and bulgogi. The restaurant is a designated silver-level sustainable restaurant in Pittsburgh.
