The restaurant scene in the Strip District just got a little bigger.
DiAnoia’s Eatery officially opened this week, and starts dinner service tonight. Chef/owner Dave Anoia says that the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and will feature a mix of casual deli options, sandwiches, homemade pastas, and desserts from their in-house bakery.
“We’ll have about 20 different sandwiches, a couple of pastas, and a bunch of different deli options, with hot and cold prepared foods,” Anoia says.
The eatery opens at 7:00 a.m. with coffee and breakfast service (think stick-to-your-ribs Italian specialties, like homemade zeppoles and breakfast pizza by the slice) and will serve Pittsburgh-made Three Rivers Tea, along with a selection of specialty coffee drinks.
The all-day deli menu includes fresh-made paninis, like Veal Parmesan, Porchetta with cherry pepper relish, and a homemade meatball sandwich, made with gorgonzola, mozzarella, parmesan and fontina cheeses.
Dinner will feature lots of pasta entrees (house-made ricotta and egg-yolk ravioli with mushroom duxelle and topped with a truffle sauce are must-try), and traditional large plates, like a Steak Florentine short loin that you order by the pound.
The full bar offers morning (!), noon (!!) and night cocktails, and beer and wine on draft, with bottle options, too.
DiAnoia’s Eatery is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
