The Milk Shake Factory is headed north!
The local milkshake chain has plans to open a new location in the McCandless Crossing development early this fall.
Just like their other locations in East Liberty, Downtown, South Side, and Oakland, the store will offer a variety of signature and gourmet milkshakes and an assortment of handcrafted chocolates.
Milk Shake Factory McCandless will be located next to First Watch breakfast restaurant.
The company began in 1914 as a small soda fountain and chocolate shop in Lawrenceville. Today, the brand has five additional shops in South Side, East Liberty, Oakland, PPG Paints Arena, and Downtown. They are known for their handspun shakes, made with local milk from Rivendale Farms, as well as their house-made specialty chocolates.
A few of the popular shakes include: the “Salted Caramel,” a caramel shake with a hint of sea salt, the “S’mores,” a marshmallow shake with hot fudge and graham crackers, and the “Cookie Dough Fudge,” a cookie dough shake with hot fudge.
In addition to this new location, The Milk Shake Factory is also working on a Cranberry location, set to open later summer, and has plans to have ten locations open across the Pittsburgh area by the close of the year.
