The Best Handmade Pasta to Get for Takeout Right Now

It’s a pretty divisive world out there right now, but if there’s one thing that most of us can agree on, it’s that handmade pasta is the best.

And while we may not be spending a lot of time inside of restaurants these days, if you want to enjoy a restaurant-quality meal in the comfort (and safety) of your own home, you’re in luck.

Some of Pittsburgh’s best restaurants are serving up handmade pasta, using seasonal ingredients (fresh corn! August tomatoes!)… and they’re all available for takeout right now.

Dianoia’s Eatery

DiAnoia’s Eatery has a new summer-only dish on the menu right now: Heirloom Tomato Tripoline, a pasta dish topped with Heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, and butter. Della Terra

Pre-orders are available for curbside pickup at Della Terra Tuesdays through Saturdays, and their current takeout menu includes house-made Rigatoni Vodka, Cavatelli Salsiccia (with sausage and rapini), and Pappardelle Boscaiola. Piccolo Forno

Piccolo Forno is currently open for both outdoor dining, and takeout, offering fresh-made pasta dishes, like Ricotta Cavatelli tossed with yellow squash, asparagus, spring peas, and pancetta in shallot-mint butter, Spinach-filled Ravioli with sage bugger, and Cappelletti with spring pea, mint and ricotta. Spork
Garfield

Spork is now offering a limited menu for pick-up and delivery Wednesdays through Saturdays, with a weekly changing menu featuring a three-course meal. Options include dishes that feature their own garden’s product, sourdough pizzas, salads, appetizers, and their signature housemade pasta, like Ricotta Gnocchi. Check their website for menu updates. Cenacolo
North Huntingdon

Cenacolo is known for their ever-changing list of fresh pastas, and they have a stellar takeout menu available right now, packed full of seasonal specials. Stagioni
South Side

Stagioni, a South Side institution, has re-imagined itself as a takeout restaurant, with pickups available of their handmade pasta dishes every Wednesday through Sunday. Girasole

Fresh-made pasta from Girasole can be ordered for takeout… or delivered directly to your door! Their current menu includes Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli, Squid Ink Linguine, and Spinach Spaghetti, served with corn, tomato, and Buffalo mozzarella. Girasole (733 Copeland Street)

Garbarino’s
East Liberty

Not only does Garbarino’s in East Liberty offer fresh-made pasta dishes, available for curbside pickup, but they also have make-at-home pasta kits available, so you can create your meal at home. Ready-made dishes featuring handmade pasta on their current menu include Rigatoni and Ragu with beef short rib, Shaghetti Pomodoro, and Rigatoni Siciliana, with sausage, eggplant, banana peppers and marinara. If you’d like to have a restaurant-quality meal at home, and cut out the restaurant part, Forma Pasta should be your go-to.
