After taking a hiatus in light of the COVID-19 crisis, the Market Square Farmers Market will return to its usual location this Thursday, July 16.
Since the beginning of the season, the market has been operating in a parking lot at the 11th Street and Waterfront Place on Sundays. That location will remain active on Sundays through July 26.
The Thursday market will run weekly (rain or shine) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., through October 29.
New health and safety measures at the market include increased spacing between vendors, line-length limitations, social distancing requirements and new protocols for safer handling of products. Online pre-orders and prepayment are highly encouraged.
Participating vendors include:
- Alpha Farms
- Batch
- Billy’s Country Smokehouse
- Cherish Creamery
- Chocolate Fusion
- Cinco De Mayo Salsas

“We’re excited to be able to safely reopen the Farmers Market back in Market Square at its usual day and time,” says Jeremy Waldrup, President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, in a release. “Besides being an essential service for the Downtown community, this activation provides a great benefit to vendors impacted by COVID-19, an outdoor
opportunity for safer engagement, and a chance to increase the vibrancy back in the heart of Downtown.”
