Pittsburgh Farmers Markets are going to look a little different this year – at least for the time being.
While farmers markets are deemed an essential business, and can open for the 2020 season, a lot of changes, including pre-orders and pickups, social distancing guidelines, and restrictions on prepared foods will be in effect to keep farmers, vendors, and customers as protected as possible.
Many markets are starting the season with temporary hours and restrictions that may change as the season progresses, so always check their social media pages or websites for the latest updates from each individual market.
Below we have rounded up a day-by-day guide to these markets, and we’ll keep updating this list as more information comes in. *Note* There are still about a dozen farmers markets that are still determining what their 2020 market season will look like, and if they will open late, or at all. We’ll keep you updated!
Know of any farmers markets that we missed? Share with us in our comments, and we’ll be sure to add it to the list!

Is the southside not holding on this year?
We’re waiting for updates, and will let you know if we find anything out!
Correct. The City of Pittsburgh decided to no longer have a farmers market at that location.
What location?
The Block Northway,
Fridays 3-7 pm
June -Oct
The markets are quaint, but many vendors source commercially, pose as farmers, and resell to the uninformed. They also take away business from the small businesses in the neighborhoods where they take place. Add to that the virus issues, and I’d rather support actual, family-owned neighborhood businesses that truly source their products from local farms or otherwise handcraft their wares. Linea Verde Green Market in Bloomfield , Pittsburgh Honey in Squirrel Hill, and Bedners in Upper St Clair are great examples of trusted brick and mortar stores that bring in their own product year round, and are adversely effected by those transients posing at the farmers markets. Shop small, shop local, and support your neighborhood businesses.
Do you have any updated information on Bellevue’s Farmers Market?
Yes! The market is opening on July 15. We’ve updated our post!
You should do a piece on the different vendors and where you can find them. For example: Hello Hummus, J&D winery president places like that.
I will travel to different markets to get their hummus and salads. The draw to the markets is the unique offerings and fresh food. Most people are not aware of all the options.
