The wait is (almost) over!
Since October, Pittsburgh has been eagerly anticipating the opening of the second Baby Loves Tacos location. For the past few weeks, the Baby Loves Tacos crew has been renovating the former Tazza D’Oro space on Grant Avenue into a brand-new restaurant and market.
The restaurant will serve a similar menu to their popular Bloomfield location, with funky, vegetable-forward burritos, tacos, and bowls. They also offer chips & dips, salads, nachos, and tostadas. The freshly-made fillings rotate between favorites like brisket, buffalo cauliflowers, roasted carrot, bbq mushroom, chorizo, and ground beef. At the new location, guests can also look forward to special breakfast features on the weekends.
And in addition to the restaurant, Zack Shell, owner of Baby Loves Tacos, told Good Food Pittsburgh that he and partner Kat Muscianesi have been working with the Millvale Development Corporation to include a market concept in the space. The market will stock all the ingredients that they use to prepare their dishes, as well as a rotating offering of additional fruit, vegetables, and basic pantry food items.
“Millvale does not have a grocery store within walking distance to the town,” Shell told Good Food Pittsburgh. “We wanted to provide a very accessible and affordable grocery for residents who don’t have access to a car.”
While the market portion is still in development (and should be fully-stocked within in the next month), the restaurant will soft-open this Friday, January 24 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, and Saturday, January 25 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Official opening hours will begin on Tuesday, January 28, and are as follows:
Tuesday-Friday 11:00 am – 8:00 pm
Saturday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
The new space is much larger than their Bloomfield location, with enough seating for 35 guests.
For up-to-date information on the space and its community market, keep an eye on Baby Loves Tacos’ social media.
